Google Hacks Original page: www.buzztoolbox.com/google/ Hi. This is a collection of Google Hacks. Some of them use the Google API -- if you have your own Google API key it'd come in handy. They're free and you can get them at http://www.google.com/apis/ Some of these hacks don't use the Google API, and are experiments with the Google interface or an effort to make hidden search options more easily accessible. If you have a Google Hack you want to let me know about, or if there's a hack you'd like to see, send a note to googlehacks@buzztoolbox.com . Thanks for visiting! Newest Google Hack - 4/23/2003 Domain Share -- Which of seven top-level-domains has the highest percentage of a given keyword? Find out here. Older Google Hacks Google News Additional Search Options -- Did you know you can get more than ten results at a time with Google News search? Sure you can. Check out this interface. Update: I've added some collection options, including press release wires and Canadian press release wires. Yellow Search -- Look up "yellow page" listings with this handy search form. Cliche-Go-Round -- Feed Google a hackneyed phrase and look for variations. Moogle -- Movie information via customized Google interfaces. GooFresh -- Search Google for documents indexed today, yesterday, within the last 7 days, or within the last 30 days. This tool is hosted at ResearchBuzz.com. If you're feeling Old School you can use AltaFresh ( http://www.researchbuzz.com/toolbox/altafresh.shtml ) which indexes recent AltaVista results. GooCookin' -- Throw some ingredients in the query form and see what Google spits back at you! For giggles, set the recipe type on general and search for "spam." (Coconut Beer Batter Spam with Raspberry Horse, anyone?) GooLevel -- Specify what level of site you want returned to you. AlltheWeb now offers this in its advanced search options so I thought it would be cool to get the same thing for Google. Not perfect. GooLucky -- Feel really lucky, in, um, a sideways kind of way. GooPoetry -- Google will generate poetry for you. Granted, it'll be weird poetry. GooRandom -- I love random URL generators! This is one of them. GooTop -- Get search results only from the top of domains. Gets Google to act more like a searchable subject index and less like a full-text search engine. Suffix Census -- Get a count of the domains that appear in the first fifty results for a given query.
