Requirements
Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system; this procedure
requires advanced knowledge of your Windows operating system. Hawaiian.Net
cannot guarantee that problems resulting from incorrect use of the Registry
Editor can be solved. Edit the registry at your own risk and always back it
up prior to making any changes.
| To disable the Content Advisor in Internet Explorer, follow the steps outlined below:

- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- From the View menu, choose Folder Options.
- Click on the View tab.
- Click the Show All Files radio button in the Hidden Files
area.
- Click the OK button.
- From the Start menu, click Find, and choose Files or Folders....
- In the Named: field, type ratings.pol.
- Click the Find Now button.
- Click the Ratings.pol item.
- From the File menu, choose Rename.
- Press the right arrow key on your keyboard.
- Backspace over the POL in the filename.
- Type in OLD so the filename now says Ratings.OLD.
- Click the Yes button when asked to confirm the renaming of the read-only
file.
- Close all windows.
- From the Start menu, choose Run....
- In the Open: field, type regedit.
- From the Registry menu, choose Export Registry File....
- In the File name: field, type backup.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE so that its contents
are shown.
- Click the plus sign next to Software so that its contents are shown.
- Click the plus sign next to Microsoft so that its contents are shown.
- Click the plus sign next to Windows so that its contents are shown.
- Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion so that its contents are
shown.
- Click the plus sign next to Policies so that its contents are shown.
- Click the Ratings item.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- Click the Yes button to confirm deletion of the Ratings key.
- Close all windows.
- Restart your computer.
